Thursday, April 14

5th Grade:  Today we looked at the concept of "King Cotton" and how slavery was vital to the economy of the south prior to the Civil War.  We read pages 229-231 from our text and watched a brief clip about the underground railroad.  No HW.

6th Grade:  Today we had a tornado drill and subsequential 1 pages essay on the procedure of a tornado drill.  This assignment is due tomorrow.  We also took notes on the change in government in France during the revolution.

7th Grade:  We learned about the Battle of the Bulge today and the surrender of Germany during WWII.  We are wrapping up the unit but will not test before Easter due to MCA testing.  There was no HW today.

8th Grade:  We participated in geography centers today as they were cut short yesterday.  There was no HW today.
